Enjoyed this one today with Bowie's own thoughts on some of his favourite songs as released on the iSelect CD.
Know it'll be totally boring to U.K. Bowie fans but hope some of our non U.K. Bowie fans find it interesting?
From The Scottish Mail On Sunday 29.06.08.

...Bowie's own thoughts on some of his favourite songs as released on the iSelect CD. Bowie is such an entertaining and amusing writer. I love reading his prose. What a shame he hasn't got it together over the last 8 years to write an autobiography, or a song-by-song commentary, or something. Of course, maybe he has and it's just sitting in the vaults waiting to come out? Maybe.

Hi S!
Bowie is indeed very entertaining and amusing wether in prose or in interviews as I've lauded many times in my threads.
I'd imagine he must have scribbled bits of his fabled autobiography by now as he has so much time on his hands these days inbetween the school runs to and from school. Be it in his vaults or under his bed.Lol!
Know I've said it before and appear a moaning anti Bowie fan when I say I find it sad these days when Bowie fans mentally masturbate over every page of these fourth and fifth edition books about Bowie and those silly Genesis Deluxe Editions costing silly monies by others as only a book by Bowie would get me wittering on in that sad way.
I even have reservations about his proposed book 'Object' irrespective of what colour it comes in which I'd imagine to be page size images with a little brief one or two line description from what I've wrongly or rightly gathered from the little snippets that have been given to date describing it?
Until Bowie digs out his little journal/autobiography from under his bed/vault and puts it into book form I'll stick with my little interviews and magazine cuttings by Bowie about Bowie.

The British magazines were always filled with rumours about Bowie tours. In 1979 the rumours started of a tour in mid 1980 which I'm guessing would've been 'The Scary Monsters Tour' as Bowie was in the middle of recording it (If not finished? ) (or would it have been 'The Scary Lodger Tour'? )
Then that rumour was quashed late 1980 and they started again for a tour mid 1981. But like you mentioned Bowie's good friend John Lennon left this mortal coil on December 8th 1980,Bowie left The Elephant Man and took a haitus from touring for five years.
Parts of history missed due to a nutter with a gun!

A wee concert review I'm guessing most Bowie fans haven't seen for the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium 20th October 1972 gig.

35 years ago today Low was released so it's kinda apt to post a little review from the day.
Younger folx wont understand how far ahead of it's time Low was when released and how it confused the reviewers. If you knew the music that was around on it's release, then you'd understand why it was sooo groundbreaking.
JackAnd an excuse to play these.
