Seen The Stranglers back in the day at The Glasgow Barrowlands ("78?) when Jean Jacques Burnel got a bit p*ss*d off with the heavy handed 'security' and after warning them several times to "cool it", jumped into the security area and proceeded to knock several lumps of sh*t out of the 'security' with his bass and his martial arts skills. (I never knew such hard fat blokes could run sooo fast? Lol)
Seen them in 2008 and as some mad drunken Glaswegian hovered from the outside edge of the balcony threatening to jump, the band stopped the show as the audience chanted a chorus of " you fat b*st*rd!" ;D
;D
Jack
PS And talking of the Glasgow 2008 incident here it is here found on YouTube today.
Notice how sympathetic Scottish Stranglers audiences are (from 2:00 mins in).

A fantastic band - and still going strong today - a new album on the way.

Even although I've seen The Stranglers in both incarnations several times the Hugh Cornwell years will always of course be the best!
Jack

Have always loved the Extended Version from the "All Twelve Inches" album. A summer evening on the back lawn with a cold beer listening to this and "the world feels wonderful"

In days past when having parties the 'mix tape/CD' would always start with something like this so that folx would think "WTF"! P.S. "I'd like to see a passionate film between the two ugliest people in the world....
When I say ugly, I don't mean rough looking....
I mean hideous!"
P.P.S. And on a lighter note this is how The Stranglers "Waltzinblack" in Scotland.
