Being 'old school' I've always been taught never to play picture discs so of course haven't played any of mine.
Curious that no one I can see anywhere has commented on how the recording actually sounds?

stood outside sister ray in london from 0630am did,nt get one.but being a collector i got some of the other items that i wanted,patti smith,iggy,lou reed and a signed Simple Minds 12". Brought the Starman disc,from ebay for £30 including postage.

Glad you eventually got your copy. 
But like your post and most Bowie fans posts on all Bowie forums indicate lottsa Bowie fans who queued for hours only obtained it by having to resort to eBay to obtain a copy which just highlights how shambolic this Bowie product aimed at Bowie fans was delivered to Bowie fans.
Like said I got my copies through being my usual pain in the ass self but doesn't stop one being p*ssed off at so many Bowie fans queuing for hours then having to result to paying silly prices on eBay from folx who had no interest in this Bowie release apart from profit.
Glad you also got other goodies though. 
I was solely there for the Bowie picture disc but after the hours in line purchased lottsa other artistes for my collection which I never knew about before standing in line,which are in my collection and not on eBay.

8-)Jack I did the same as you,just brought stuff for myself,although i do sell stuff on ebay,i don,t do it with record store day releases,don,t agree with it.went to another shop in london and brought to more 7" that i could,nt get in the first one,and as well as the Bowie one have brought two more from ebay.but like you i mainly went for the Bowie disc and the Simple minds getting it signed was a bonus.worth not going to bed from night shift to get. ;D |

I was working on the saturday so there was no way i could get to the shops so i had no choice but to buy mine from ebay £26 with postage, how much was they selling them for in the shops?
I have also left mine sealed so have no idea what the quality is like.

due to the sucess of the starman Picture disc,john im only Dancing is being released as a limted pic/disc as well, ordered mine already! got the imfo from david bowie offical on facebook. ;D

As like yourself and most folx I work silly hours and don't always check my Facebook too often due to being 'Billy No Mates' and am not like those trolling insects who seem to be imprisoned in their bedroom and gaffa taped to their PC 24/7. Lol!
Was thinking "here we go again" another packed lunch for a long wait in the p*ss*ng rain in a queue blocks long only to watch the retard eBay sellers post it whilst I await the doors open,and fellow Bowie fans have to pay silly prices to such retards.
Hopefully the 'Pre-order link' "works" properly and we don't have to go through it all again,as like yourself I've paid my monies to 'pre-order'.
Hope you don't mind P If I start a new thread to give folx more details?

Know folx will say it's E.M.I and record companies etc etc etc ad nauseum doing this kinda crap and 'advertising' the silly priced what's his name Speed Of Life book ad nauseum to make £££££££/$$$$$$'s but you'd maybe think that just once Bowie/his alleged 'fan site' etc etc would be like N.I.N's etc etc and reward fans for being the fans that we are and not an "endless cash machine" who also now have arthiritis and can't spend hours standing in the pouring rain. ;D
