A little Bowie song that has always puzzled moi over the years.
Golden Years (Instrumental).
First heard it during Stephen King's mini TV series called Golden Years and wondered why it was never included as a bonus track during the Ryko releases and have wondered why it's never appeared as a 'b side' or bonus track ever since and just appears to be a mythical song?
I got a master recording of it in 1992 from "a friend" and thought at the time it must've been a Ryko recording? (Knew it wasn't from the TV transmission as they only transmitted about 12-15 seconds of it at the end of every episode until the last episode where they transmitted about 1.20 mins of it.)
During the week I watched all my old tapes of it,then scoured all the forums to see If I could find when it was actually recorded/remastered and by whom and was still non the wiser. So bought all the DVDs available to see If I could be enlightened but the only place you get the full song is on the end credits of the 2 disc set. (Which you get here but....)
Definately can't see Bowie handing over his masters of this song to the musical producers of Stephen King's Golden Years mini TV series so it seems destined to the fog of myth. (Hence why the thread is titled Golden Years (Instrumental 76/91) as no one seems to know when this was made in the studio and by whom?)
Unless all the "knowledgeable folx" work it out?
All questions and no answers.
